NEWS

WOW! Our new 'news' system is working SO well. Yesterday, Manon and Max both shared fantastic news with us. We were really impressed with the confidence they showed in speaking and we talked about what made their 'news' so good.
- They spoke loudly and clearly.
- They were organised - knew their topic!
- They looked at us while they were speaking...made eye contact.
- They use good sentences and some 'sophisticated' language....that means BIG, interesting words. :)
- They didnt um and ahh.
- They had thought about something interesting to share with us...we were 'hooked in.'

Keep it up everyone, I love hearing about things you do when are not at school and it's great to see some amazing ora language skills!

Here's Manon (the next Sarah Walker) and Max sharing their news. Max shared some photos of his trip to Rotorua...we thought it looked like him and his cousin were in a spooky horror movie.

Fizzing FUN! :)

We started our Inquiry Unit, "Fizzing Fun" today. It was great to see you all working so cooperatively to make your volcanoes and to see you so excited when they exploded! Well done Olivia's group, you had some great ideas about what made the 'fizz'. We'll find out

more tomorrow....

Don't give up!

This is the inspirational video that Miss Read tried to show us at assembly today. This guy is amazing...it brought tears to my eyes!

THE OLYMPIC GAMES

What do you know about the Olympic Games. Where will they be held? Who are the New Zealand Athletes competing? What sports will there be? What New Zealanders have won medals before?

Share an Olympic Fact with us...add it to the comments below and we'll share them all on Friday.

It's TERM 3

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing holiday.
If you get time this week check out the new maths games I've put links to.
Practise your basic facts and your skip counting - see how fast you can get and we'll have a competition in class.
