Technology Challenge

On the last day of Term 1 we had a Technology Challenge. We had to design a bag that would.... OPEN and CLOSE, could be carried by a HANDLE, could hold Ms McVey's STAPLE GUN and was COOL and FUNKY. We had 55 minutes to complete the challenge and then we had to model the bag. A spokesperson from each group then talked to the class about the special features of their design. Tiddlaik the Frog

We read a great book about Tiddalik and then drew pictures to show the main events in the story. Then we retold it in our own words.

Tiddalik

Long ago there was a frog named Tiddalik. He drank all the water on Earth. He was the biggest frog in the entire world. All the trees and grass died. The animals were SO thirsty. Some animals thought of a sneaky plan. “Let’s tickle him and the water will rush out of his mouth,” they said.

Finally Eel came swimming along. He squirmed closer and closer to the frog. He snuck under his tummy and tickle, tickle, tickle….finally Tiddalik laughed! Water gushed out of his mouth, it filled the lakes and the trees lived.

Kyle and Ollie found some frogs in the weekend. Now they live in Room 20.
Today we sat in a circle and had a good look at them...they loved hopping about and having special
cuddles with us!

The Sunflower 

You catch my eye as I walk to the Big Side for morning tea.

I feel like getting a pair of scissors and snipping your stalk and taking you home. I love eating your seeds. I like looking at your delicate petals on my way past. You are so beautiful, sunflower. I love how you sway in the gentle wind. You make me feel happy sunflower. You are a treasure.
